Toss in some historical fiction, a trip to Sienna, Italy, a bit of romance and a dash of The Da Vinci Code, and you come up with "Juliet." It's a recipe for success.
When Julie Jacobs learns that her Aunt Rose has passed away, she expects the will to rain fortunes down upon her and her twin sister, Janice. But instead, she is given a ticket to Italy and a key. When she arrives in Sienna, Italy the details start to unfold. Her real name is Giulietta Tolomei, a descendant of the Tolomei and Salembeni family struggle. The curse on both of the families is still alive and well, a mere 600 years later. As Julie/Giulietta navigates the pasts of her family, she learns that it was here in Sienna, not Verona, that the true Romeo and Juliet story unfolded.
She isn't sure exactly what she's searching for. Is is just to learn more about her family and the famous history surrounding it? What about the rumored treasure that lies at Juliet's grave? And is there a chance for her to find her own Romeo in the process?
I'm a big fan of historical fiction and I loved how not only this book stayed true to a lot of the Romeo & Juliet legend, but it also involved a mystery and some high action plot lines. Pick it up. You'll love it.
